Chesed-Employment -- Tzadaka Pointer:
The highest form of
Tzedaka is to help keep someone free of financial support by helping him find a
job, or giving him business or work to do. (Yoreh Deah 249:6). We all try to
give Tzedaka daily. Yet, we also all know someone without a job or out of work,
especially with the economy on the downside. Why not try to the highest form of
the Mitzvah (in addition to V’ahavta L’reacha Comocha, and other Mitzvos) by
making a few calls or doing some legwork to help your friend or neighbor in this
regard. The Shul has formed a committee to help people look for employment.
Some of the members are Mr. Bulow and Mr. Ferenstein. If you or someone you know
are looking for employment please call them.
If you are interested in
joining the committee please call 720 904-1721. You may also email ebulow@attbi.com.

Looking for a way to help Eretz

Looking for a way to
help Eretz Yisroel and clean out your closest, here’s your chance. We are

clothing will be taken to Eretz Yisroel by Celia Feder and distributed by BAMBI,
an organization well known for their help to families in need. The first
shipment will be taken in January. All clothing must be dropped off no later
than January 7th to be included in this first shipment. This
will be a continuous project that will allow Celia to take suitcases full of
clothing with her during her trips to Eretz Yisroel. For additional info call:

More Help for Eretz Yisroel:
N’eshe Chasdei Shlomo, a Chesed organization in Yerusholaim, started in memory of Dr. Shlomo Prenzlau,O”H is collecting unused household and gift items for needy Kallahs, e.g. tablecloths, linens, towels, platters, dishes, cutlery, pots, Challah covers and knives etc. For drop off please contact Mrs. Miriam Joseph 303 825-4394.
Shatnes Testing-Looking for Replacement:
I am looking for someone to replace me for Shatnez checking. I have information about whom to contact to become a trained sample-taker, or to learn b'iyun how to check a garment without sending in any samples to a lab. The latter training is more intense, expensive and time-consuming, but then the checker is not mishubad to any lab and is allowed to keep all his /her earnings, without sending a portion to the lab (as is the case with a sample taking). I would be happy to discuss these ideas with any interested party please call CHAYA MEYER @ 303 573 8189 or 303 573 1133.
Shatnes Testing- Preferred Hours:
Currently my
preferred hours of checking are Tuesday and Thursday nights from
Hilchos Shabbos:
We have learned that in order to return a food to the stove, 5 conditions must be met.
1) The stovetop is covered with a Blech
2) The food item is completely cooked
3) The food is still warm
4) Ones’ grip has not been released from the pot, it was always under ones ’ physical control
5) Upon removing it initially, there was intent to put it back
While all of these conditions are required lechatchillah (in the first place), b’de’eved (ex post facto) there are some exceptions regarding the last two conditions. For instance, if while rearranging the pots on the Blech before Shabbos, one inadvertently placed it on the counter, he may put it back. This is provided that the other conditions are present, and that the food is needed.
