Shatnes Testing-Looking for Replacement:

I am looking for someone to replace me for Shatnez checking. I have information about whom to contact to become a trained sample-taker, or to learn b'iyun how to check a garment without sending in any samples to a lab. The latter training is more intense, expensive and time-consuming, but then the checker is not mishubad to any lab and is allowed to keep all his /her earnings, without sending a portion to the lab (as is the case with a sample taking). I would be happy to discuss these ideas with any interested party please call CHAYA MEYER @ 303 573 8189 or 303 573 1133.

Shatnes Testing- Preferred Hours:

Currently my preferred hours of checking are Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-7:30.  Please call to let me know you are coming.  No drop-offs, please.  The charge is $5 per garment.

Hilchos Shabbos:

Just as one may not cook on Shabbos, similarly, one may not put cooked items on the flame, because this, too, resembles cooking. It is permitted, however, to return  cooked food to the stovetop, if the following five conditions are met:

1)      The food item is completely cooked.

2)      The stovetop is covered with a Blech.

3)      Upon removing it initially,  there was intent to put it back.

4)      One’s grip has not been released from the pot, it was always under one’s physical control.

The food is still warm.
