Shatnes Testing-Looking for Replacement:

I am looking for someone to replace me for Shatnez checking. I have information about whom to contact to become a trained sample-taker, or to learn b'iyun how to check a garment without sending in any samples to a lab. The latter training is more intense, expensive and time-consuming, but then the checker is not mishubad to any lab and is allowed to keep all his /her earnings, without sending a portion to the lab (as is the case with a sample taking). I would be happy to discuss these  ideas with any interested party please call CHAYA MEYER @ 303 573 8189 or 303 573 1133.

Shatnes Testing- Preferred Hours:

Currently my preferred hours of checking are Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-7:30.  please call to let me know you are coming.  no drop-offs, please.  the charge is $5 per garment.

Lost and Found:

Found; leather Rosh Hashono Machzor with no name in it. Please call 720 904-1721.

Advertising for Free:

Instead of posting ads on the bulletin board, the Shul is in the process of making an advertiser’s page similar to the newsletter. The first one will be published for Motzoi Shabbos  Parshas Lech Lecha.

Shabbos M’vorchim:

Attention Women and girls; the first Shabbos M’vorchim Shiur will be held at the home of Mrs. Denise Beren 1660 Vrain  this Shabbos, Shabbos Beraishis, October 5 at 2:45. Mrs. Aliza Bulow will give the Shiur.

Tzedaka-Chesed:

A Tzedaka fund has been set up to pay for the Peckmans Legal Bills. If you want to contribute please make your checks Payable Zera Avraham c/o Tony Hamer.

Chesed-Employment -- Tzadaka Pointer:

The highest form of Tzedaka is to help keep someone free of financial support by helping him find a job, or giving him business or work to do. (Yoreh Deah 249:6). We all try to give Tzedaka daily. Yet, we also all know someone without a job or out of work, especially with the economy on the downside. Why not try to the highest form of the Mitzvah (in addition to v’ahavta l’reacha comocha, and other Mitzvos) by making a few calls or doing some legwork to help your friend or neighbor in this regard.

The Shul is forming a committee to help people look for employment. If interested call 720 904-1721.

Shimiras Hashovas Aveidah:

All items left over in the Shul are going to be placed on the tables in the social hall next  for people to claim. The week after everything will be Hefker, and whatever will be left will be given away.

Parshas Braishis:

And the earth was desolate and void, and darkness was upon the waters...and the almighty said, let there be light and there was light"( 1:2,3) The Chofetz Chayim used to say that these Psukim serve as an inspiration in times of darkness. While sticks and axes can't chase away darkness, just one small candle can. At creation, the world was completely dark. Hashem said "Let there be light", and this one statement was sufficient to light up the world. Young children begin to learn Torah with this very idea. Although there are times when spiritual darkness overcomes our world, there is always hope, as Hashem's word can instantly bring light. (Chofetz Chayim)
