Shatnes Testing-Looking for Replacement:

I am looking for someone to replace me for Shatnez checking. I have information about whom to contact to become a trained sample-taker, or to learn b'iyun how to check a garment without sending in any samples to a lab. The latter training is more intense, expensive and time-consuming, but then the checker is not mishubad to any lab and is allowed to keep all his /her earnings, without sending a portion to the lab (as is the case with a sample taking). I would be happy to discuss these ideas with any interested party please call CHAYA MEYER @ 303 573 8189 or 303 573 1133.

Shatnes Testing- Preferred Hours:

Currently my preferred hours of checking are Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-7:30.  Please call to let me know you are coming.  No drop-offs, please.  The charge is $5 per garment.

Kiruv and Parnasa:

There is a need for jobs for the community of Rabbi Abramov in Aurora. Candidates are available for cooks, bus drivers, maintenance workers etc. The salary range is from $ 25,000 to $ 30,000.  If you know of any jobs please call Mrs. Hamer 303 623-0546 or Rabbi Abramov 303 751-4940.

Tzedaka-Chesed:

A Tzedaka fund has been set up to pay for the Peckmans Legal Bills. If you want to contribute please make your checks Payable Zera Avraham c/o Tony Hamer.

Chesed-Employment -- Tzadaka Pointer:

The highest form of Tzedaka is to help keep someone free of financial support by helping him find a job, or giving him business or work to do. (Yoreh Deah 249:6). We all try to give Tzedaka daily. Yet, we also all know someone without a job or out of work, especially with the economy on the downside. Why not try to the highest form of the Mitzvah (in addition to v’ahavta l’reacha comocha, and other Mitzvos) by making a few calls or doing some legwork to help your friend or neighbor in this regard.

The Shul is forming a committee to help people look for employment. If interested call 720 904-1721.

Hilchos Shabbos:

“It is proper and advisable that all foods be completely cooked before Shabbos, and be maintained only on a flame covered by a Blech. The absolute requirement  of the Halacha, however, is to use a Blech for foods that are less than half cooked (in case of necessity: one-third cooked), and for  liquids that are below 160` F at the onset of Shabbos.

A piece of raw meat may be put in a crockpot immediately before Shabbos to exempt a pot from requiring a  Blech.
